ALHAMA DE GRANADA INTERPRETATION CENTRE (GIAG)
Center exposing the history of the city of Alhama through panels, interactive screens and videos
Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, it is housed in the building that had been the former prison (17th century). In six rooms spread over three floors, ground floor, basement and first floor, it allows a good contextualization before the visit to Alhama. We will learn about the importance of the earthquake of December 25, 1884, which destroyed a large part of the city, the omnipresence of water in a city known for its thermal waters, but also its water mills, the variety of its festivals such as the carnival and the testimonies of former prisoners. Through panels, interactive screens and videos, the latter can be in French.
