The museum houses fossil remains (mammoths, mastodons, saber-toothed tigers, etc.) found at Chilhac and dating back 2 million years.

Located on a basalt organ cliff overlooking the river, the museum takes you back two million years in an hour. The first floor features southern mammoths and Auvergne mastodons, while the second floor provides information on other species discovered on the site: rhinoceros, zebra, red deer, hyena.... An educational booklet is available for children to enjoy a fun-filled visit.

A visiter absolument pour la qualité et la rareté des pièces présentées ainsi que pour l' Accueil avec un grand «A».

A small museum where you will be welcomed by enthusiasts who will make you discover the mastodon of Auvergne. The little bonus: an entertainment Wednesday is offered to children (fossil plaster).
