ENCARNACIÓN CHURCH
Church with D4a dome with golden reflections of neo-classicism Granada
Its voluminous, circular stature, dominated by its dome with golden reflections, is a good example of Granada's neo-classicism. Built at the end of the 17th century, under the reign of Carlos III, it was the work of the architect Francisco Aguado who followed the plans of Domingo Lois de Monteagudo, a disciple of Ventura Rodríguez. Its particularity is that it used only one stone to close its dome in the shape of a perfect circle, inspired by the pantheon of Agrippa in Rome, which earned it the popular nickname rotonda, rotunda. The local patron saint, the Virgen de los Remedios, is venerated there.
