Charming arcaded square in the historical center of Guadix with a tourist office
Located in the historic center of Guadix, this charming 16th- and 17th-century arcaded square is also known as Plaza de los Corregidores (officers of the court), or Plaza de las Palomas (doves). On the southern side, the town hall, a 17th-century building, has been home to the Corregidores balcony since the 1940s. It was from these balconies that authorities and neighbors alike attended public performances and religious and popular celebrations. Near the entrance to the square is the tourist office.
