INTERPRETATION CENTRE ARCHAEOLOGICAL DEPOSITS
Interpretation center with all the latest technology
It is designed as a viewpoint, half buried, with views over the fields of the Ibero-Roman city of Basti. One of the most important fortified cities of the Iberian period. Probably founded around the 8th and 7th centuries BC and having reached its greatest splendour from the 5th BC to the 1st century AD. The archaeological complex occupies an area of 135 ha within an ancient territory sometimes called Bastetania. And it was there that in 1971, in one of its necropolises, the Lady of Baza, a sitting statue from the 4th century BC was discovered, the original of which is on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid.
To make this story understandable, the centre deploys all the latest technological innovations: 3D reconstruction, downloading applications to laptops, touch screens, etc.
