If there's any consolation (consuelo) to be found on this street near the cathedral, it's in the good stuff. In a setting lined with bullfighting posters, portions of cheese and well-cut charcuterie serve as an alibi for tasting fine Spanish wines. In the cellar, a mummified ham from the early days of this small institution, founded in 1888 by Don José María López Cruz, will be piously saluted. As such, it is the oldest tavern in Jaén.
