POSADA DEL POTRO
Beautiful and unmissable square, an artistic monument that was the inspiration for the writer Francisco de Quevedo in Córdoba
On this beautiful and unmissable square (Plaza del Foal), once a horse and animal market, this typical 15th-centurycorral, a superbly well-preserved artistic monument with cobbled patio, stables, high gallery with gates, wooden roofs and small rooms, has been restored and transformed into Centro Flamenco Fosforito in homage to the singer Antonio Fernández "Fosforito". Since June 2013, the multi-disciplinary center's remarkably well-designed interactive exhibition (hosting shows and events) presents flamenco through the ages with its emblematic characters. The Posada del Potro is said to have been a meeting place for hoodlums in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was also a source of inspiration for the writer Francisco de Quevedo, and even the writer Cervantes took up residence here, the posada being mentioned in his Don Quixote.
