The hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Sierra, Cabra's patron saint, is located on the heights of the Sierra de Cabra, at Picacho Point. From here, on September 4, the Virgin is carried to the Church of the Asunción by a procession of walkers and horsemen (around 10,000 people), who also accompany her return on the first Sunday in October. We recommend the visit, not least for the access to a viewpoint known as the "balcony of Andalusia", which, from the orientation table, provides information on all visible destinations. Don't forget to pack a little wool, as the temperature here is regularly lower than in the city, but as a gift, you'll be guaranteed peace and quiet, broken only by the crowing of roosters and the flight of a few vultures.
