CASTLE OF THE COUNTS OF CABRA
Ancient fortress of Arab origin dominated by a crenellated keep of 20 meters high
Built inside the city walls to the northwest of the present-day town, the castle is an ancient fortress of Arab origin, whose reconstruction began in the 14th century. Dominated by a 20-metre-high, crenellated keep(la torre del homenaje), part of the original construction is still in good condition: crenellated walls, courtyard of arms (which could accommodate 8,000 to 10,000 men) and corner towers. The current complex also houses a convent-college. The tourist office is located in the former orchard of this convent.
