SHRINE OF THE VIRGEN DE ARACELI
Sanctuary with a church and its outbuildings as well as the former lodgings of the chaplains in Lucena
It is on the heights of the Sierra Aras, 863 metres above sea level, that the sanctuary of the patron saint of Lucena stands, with a church and its outbuildings as well as the former chaplains' accommodation. The place also gives access to a very pretty viewpoint from where you can observe five Andalusian provinces and more than thirty villages on a clear day. It is also the path of the ruta arecelitana, which starts from the ascent and goes to the sanctuary every May 1st.
