PALACE OF THE COUNTS OF SANTA ANA
One of the jewels of the civil baroque of the Cordoba region in Lucena
It is one of the jewels of the Cordoba region's civil Baroque. Restored in 2011, it has been converted into a museum and interpretation center for the city of Lucena. The most striking feature of this palace, which belonged to the city's most illustrious families, is its facade, with its Cabra marble ornamentation surrounding the doors and windows on both floors. Built around two arcaded courtyards, the interior is dominated by a staircase decorated with 18th-century azulejos from Seville, and a splendid rococo dome. Restoration work uncovered a Roman sculpture of the god Cupid and various neoclassical wall paintings.
