ALMERICAR
Almería, in the province of the same name in Andalusia, is home to the largest protected natural area in the Mediterranean: the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. The park boasts a spectacular 50 km coastline, with exceptional natural beaches characterized by dark volcanic sand and crystal-clear, clean, oxygenated waters. Los Genoveses beach, voted Spain's best beach in 2015, is particularly remarkable, unspoilt and with no visible human construction. Other beaches such as Monsul, Media Luna or El Barronal offer unique spaces where you can breathe pure, natural air, allowing you to disconnect from the city like in few other places in the Mediterranean. In addition to beaches, Cabo de Gata Natural Park also offers other attractions, such as the town of Nijar, famous for its carpets and jars, or the town of Rodalquilar, with its Roman remains, ancient gold mines and fortifications such as the Alumbres Tower. Seafood lovers will also be delighted by the charming fishing village of Isleta del Moro. It should be noted that most of these beaches, due to their remote location and difficult access, have no lifeguards, sanitary facilities or waste collection. We therefore recommend that you bring your own food and drink and leave no trace of garbage to preserve their natural beauty.
