Built in 1948 as New York International Airport, the airport was renamed in 1963 following the assassination of the American president. With 35,000 employees, it is the largest of New York's three airports. Since 2022, it has been undergoing a major $19 billion redevelopment project. When you arrive at the airport, head to the Ground Transportation Desk near baggage claim for any information you may require.
