With its air of a small French-style troquet and its simple, well-executed bistro cuisine (salads, cordon bleu, croque-monsieur, beef tartar, duck breast, onion soup, prime rib...), the Baratin offers a very pleasant haven for hexagonal flavors. In fact, many of the locals are French, and there's a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends and match days! So much so, in fact, that you'll soon feel right at home, sitting at the zinc bar, chatting with your fellow diners as if you were back home, even though you're in the heart of the West Village. A great address.
