RUSS & DAUGHTERS CAFE

Former store of a Polish immigrant converted into a coffee shop with a Jewish mini-market style decoration, where you can eat fish and bagels.
This café is an extension of the"appetizing store" at 179 E. Houston Street, famous for its bagels and smoked fish since 1914! For the store's 100th anniversary, descendants of Joel Russ, an Ashkenazi Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe, opened this eponymous café. Bagels are served on planks with a variety of smoked and marinated fish. The menu will also delight caviar lovers, as well as babka French toast and Eggs Benny with smoked salmon. The decor, in the style of the historic boutique from the early 20th century, is well worth a visit.
