OH ! TAISHO
Sushi, kebabs and various tasty dishes in a Japanese restaurant with bar at St. Marks Place.
One of the many Japanese restaurants on St Marks Place (if you're coming from 3rd Avenue, give in to temptation, they all look alike): skewers, ravioli, tempura, soups, edamame (soy beans), plum rice and fried squid tentacles. The atmosphere is friendly and rather noisy. For an authentic experience, sit at the bar with an Asahi or Kirin Japanese beer, and try something other than sushi. The cooks, blindfolded, are busy working in front of you, in the smoke and steam.
