Will absolutely come back again.
For starters, we chose two cheeses (Comte and Camembart) with duck and fig terrine which was prob the best terrine I've had. My sister also ordered the escargot which had a delicious garlic sauce. For mains, I went with the canard with cherry sauce and her the Bouef Bourguignon.
The duck was prepared perfectly at medium and was not sinewy, which is usually the case at many places I've dined at. However, the star of the evening was the Bourguignon. It was so tender and flavourful, and I could drink the sauce without the accompanying mashed potatoes. We ended with the souffle which was on the house. I personally could have used a bit more sugar as it tasted a bit too eggy.
I can't wait to get back to Chez Francis to try their other dishes as this is such a lovely (and necessary) French restaurant in this part of the city.
Just a little request for the next time less salt on the Boeuf bourguignon it was too too salty
The ambiance the waiter the food everything was perfect
Try the Soufflé for you appetizer and dessert you won't regret it
Nous allons y retourner c'est une certitude
Only the very smallest complaints!
Bread and butter: I was really hoping for a richly flavored French butter, perhaps something tangy and cultured even. Unfortunately we got just flat grocery store style butter.
Le Canard: Almost perfect! Needed a bit more salt.
Beouf Bourguignon: Salted a bit too much, in order to balance well with the not-salty pomme puree. Portion of puree was too small, so the remainder of the stew was very salty.
For a French bistrot style, the food is good.
I have been twice which is enough at present.
Looking for new places.
We booked this restaurant because of the strong reviews on google. We are beginning to lose confidence with google as we did with yelp.
The staff was fabulous and attentive.
The food was just not special in any way with the exception of the escargot. The onion tart was overcooked and I could barely slice into it. The dark brown crust scattered over the plate. We both had the restaurant week menu. Neither the fish nor the meat dish offered wowed us.
We had an $80 cab/frank which is a $22 bottle of wine. The wine list is too expensive.
The ambience, the food, the music, and most importantly the service made for the dinner of my lifetime! I cannot recommend this place enough!
