GANSEVOORT HOTEL
Chic hotel with bar and restaurant in the heart of the Meatpacking District.
Opened in 2004, the Gansevoort Hotel quickly became the epicentre of the Meatpacking District. Outside and inside, the hotel is adorned with an ultra-modern design that will not leave you indifferent. As for the rooms, they are not as luxurious as the hotel's design may suggest, but they are beautifully decorated. The view of New York is magnificent if you are high enough in the building, no matter how big your room is. The only downside is that the elevators are to be shared with the customers of the bar and restaurant.

Stayed here for business couple of days, I really liked the hotel. The location is the best, on the big square in the Meat Packing District. Staff from front door to front desk is excellent: very friendly and professional, very good people. The rooms are upgraded and are perfect, would have preferred a walk in shower, but understand it is not always possible. Beds are good, and view on the square, in the evening it can be a bit noisy and also in the morning, but you are in the middle of the city and I am a light sleeper. What I liked is the balcony, that you can actually access (only few rooms have that). The restaurants are good and we did breakfast many times outdoors, looks like I am in France! It is very lively, but not much NY traffic and its an open square so a lot of light not like many NYC hotels in these small streets where it is dark, so great to people watch. The rooftop bar is nice and the pool I did not use. Will book again next time, it is pricey but the location and the team members makes it feel like you are on vacation. Worth it.
