CARLYLE

A luxury hotel that has been hosting celebrities since 1930 and whose rooms enjoy a splendid view of Central Park.
The Carlyle does not show off or display itself: its true luxury lies in discretion. Since the hotel opened in 1930, its black lacquer entrance has seen some royal and presidential heads and many members of this sect known in America as the seriously rich. The building is one of the highest on the Upper East Side and most of the rooms have an extraordinary view of Central Park. The hotel also houses the jazz bar Café Carlyle where the legendary black singer Bobby Short has performed every night for over 30 years.
