Cheap hotel in a historic setting just a stone's throw from the Empire State Building.
Located a stone's throw from the Empire State Building, this hotel is housed in a beautiful brick building that was once (in 1893) the headquarters of Life magazine. Pages of the magazine decorate the corridors of this hotel, which is more than 100 years old. Each room is equipped with television, telephone and air conditioning. One of Manhattan's best-known low-cost hotels, in a lively neighborhood and on a pleasant street. Even the smallest rooms have a certain cachet. For the price, it is hard to do better.

The beds are so comfy and big. Our window to the street was a on the small side. Street sounds not to disturbing.
Room had nice design elements to it. Bathroom clean and fresh as well as tastefull design. Could have been a drawer for clothes added. Otherwise everything was great.
They seemed to have a small gym as well, they should add that to website info.
Location is superb as a tourist, close to many major attractions, good resturants and communication. Neighbourhood felt safe at all times.
I'd stay here again on my next trip!
