Businessmen and women are the main clientele of this overpriced hotel, now acquired by the Chinese hotel chain Peninsula. Of the famous Gotham Hotel built in 1902, the magnificent façade and double staircase in the lobby remain, a model of classic elegance. The hotel has undergone a complete makeover this year, but remains very classic. The service and facilities are excellent (rooftop, restaurant-bar, great weight room with yoga classes), but don't be afraid to shell out the big bucks to stay here.

The rooms are amazing and we got an upgrade to a very nice suite and it came with free legos and chocolate. The location is near the best parts of New York and I would recommend going here.

Excelente hotel! Todo el staff es increíble , respetuoso y amable , me hospedé para festejar mi cumpleaños y tuvieron detalles muy lindos , gracias en especial a Jeff de sales y Paul en front desk , me hicieron sentir en casa, el servicio es EXCELENTE , desayuno delicioso , el hotel es HERMOSO ! Quedé fascinada con mi estancia .

It is a luxury hotel at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 55th Street. Especially during the Christmas period, the entrance of the hotel is impressively decorated with a large Christmas tree.

Peninsula is one of my favorite hotel brands around the world. The comfort of the hotel rooms and guest service is always impeccable and consistent wherever you go around the world. I look forward to coming back to this incredible location again on 5th Avenue, where all the restaurants and stores are located. The breakfast experience and comfortable bed were the highlight of my stay. Highly recommend to all luxury travelers, you will absolutely love it!
