Trendy 4-star hotel with a superb rooftop in the heart of Times Squares.
A trendy, stylish hotel, the Sanctuary Hotel is ideal for those looking for an exceptional stay, right in the heart of Times Square. It boasts 113 warm, comfortable rooms. Formerly a budget hotel, the Sanctuary successfully entered the 4-star category in 2011. Inevitably, now that the establishment has become a trendy spot, prices have risen, but you can still get a good deal if you book well in advance. Plus: the wooden rooftop with its deckchairs and sofas.

They charge me 75 dollars in my credit card after I am back! They said the just need the credit card for safe, and than they charged it! I asked explanation via email and they said: facility fee. I booked for booking and all the amount tax etc very included! I will say also in Italian! LADRI
Location right next to time square
The front door men most of whom were fantastic though one was rather miserable (long haired guy)
Like most state the lobby area is quite dark due to the dark red type leather used liberally around the area which then goes into the lifts.
The rooms themselves are typical NY in that they are very small so don’t expect a large room as the pictures really don’t give a true reflection. The rooms are not the cleanest and we noticed in several areas issues with dust which as an asthmatic has caused me some issues. We also had to report a faulty light switch to the bathroom which they said they fixed but hadn’t as the screw was still missing and the plug was sparking. They then came back the next day to resolve the issue.
The breakfast was fairly simple with mainly bagels and white bread and fruit. There was little variation and in fact we noticed that the avocado available on the first two days was never served again. Same with blueberry muffins. The breakfast team are not the most friendliest despite me trying to strike up conversation. Also it can become exceptionally busy and you may have to wait for a table.
There was also no recycling facilities which considering what is being used and the same for all residents I find it really poor.
Overall it isn’t a bad places to stay but not the best.
The Haven Rooftop Bar was beautiful and the food was amazing.
The breakfast staff kept the breakfast area spotless and a shout out to the Linda G, our room attendant, for looking after us.
I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if i am ever lucky enough to return to New York.
