The New Amsterdam Theatre is a landmark of the New York theater scene. It opened its doors in 1903 and has since become one of Broadway's leading theaters. After many ups and downs over the years, it regained its success in the 1990s when Disney Theatrical Productions signed a lease. Since then, it has hosted many successful productions, including The Lion King, Mary Poppins and its current show, Aladdin. The theater has 1702 seats and offers food stalls, merchandise stores, disabled access, air conditioning, a bar and checkroom.
