Guillermo Olguin, a famous Mexican painter, and Ignacio Carballido, a young entrepreneur, decided in 2010 to open Casa Mezcal, as a New York enclave in Oaxaca, a region of Mexico renowned for its cuisine and of course also for its mezcal. The two partners have since created a high-ranking mezcal brand, Los Amantes, and serve dishes of traditional Mexican cuisine as well as distilling refined and sacred blue agave into the digestive glasses of connoisseurs... and discoverers.
