SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

Kilts, bagpipes, drums, majorettes: the very festive St. Patrick's Day parade along Fifth Avenue celebrates Ireland.
St. Patrick's Day has been celebrated with a citywide parade since 1762! Although Irish immigrants are no longer numerous today, New York remains attached to this festive celebration. There's a big parade on Fifth Avenue. On the program: kilts, bagpipes, veterans being honoured and majorettes. In the evening, the city experiences one of those endless nights where New Yorkers sing and dance until the early hours of the morning, well helped by the Guinness, which, it must be said, is flowing.
