A show celebrated in every corner of Chinatown, with dragon costumes and dances. A little kitschy but exotic!
The Chinese community in New York celebrates the New Year, the most important holiday on the Chinese calendar. For the occasion, festivities are organized and are to be discovered in every corner of Chinatown. The celebration lasts about two weeks, we start by blowing up firecrackers at the Firecracker Ceremony to scare away evil spirits, then we attend, usually on a Sunday, the parade for the Lunar New Year, with lots of costumes and dragon dances. Sometimes a little kitschy but certainly exotic.
