Magnificent cathedral with many works of art, organizing concerts of religious music and an unusual show
Construction began in 1892 and is still not complete. Sculptors and masons are working according to Gothic methods to complete the building, especially the west tower. Since its construction began, the cathedral has undergone various modifications and its architectural style is difficult to define. It has a capacity of 5,000 people. The entrance door is 6 m high and weighs 3 tons, the nave is over 41 m high. Its originality lies in its religious internationalism, the curiosities it contains and the causes it supports. The interior is filled with small chapels dedicated to particular causes. A sculpture has been erected in memory of the genocide, another in honor of John Coltrane. A monument is dedicated to the firefighters who died in a terrible New York fire in 1966 and a giant 200-year-old crystal quartz is there to honor the beauty of God's creation. In a recess, poems, letters and drawings from around the world are displayed on the wall. Other chapels house temporary exhibits of some pretty wild contemporary art. The cathedral houses many works of art, mostly donated, which give it a museum-like atmosphere. There are also many concerts of religious music and ballets or percussion concerts. Finally, in the Biblical Garden, plants mentioned in the Bible.
