Memorial plaque on the wall of the Engine 10 Ladder 10 barracks, featuring an engraving of the heroes of the September 11 attacks
Raised to the rank of hero since the September 11 attacks, New York firefighters have not hesitated to risk their lives to save the lives of others. 343 of them died at the site of the collapse of the twin towers and to pay tribute to them, a commemorative plaque was installed in 2006 on the wall of the Engine 10 Ladder 10 barracks, which faces the World Trade Center. The engraving depicts New York firefighters fighting the flames that escape from the towers, and bears the inscription May we never forget.
