Magnificent Art Deco skyscraper considered the tallest building in the world before being surpassed by the Chrysler Building.
A magnificent skyscraper in an art deco style inaugurated in 1930 and renovated by Donald Trump when it was acquired in 1996, when it was falling into disuse. It is located in the financial district and is sometimes called 40 Wall Street, for its address. For a time it was the tallest building in the world, before being overtaken by the Chrysler Buidling. For the record, an air force plane crashed into its north wing in 1946, killing all 5 passengers on board. The accident reportedly occurred because of poor visibility due to fog.
