Tower of 182 m for 46 floors with astonishing architecture having steel and glass triangles interlocked with each other
W.-R. Hearst wanted to shelter his empire in a fortress. But because of the depression of 1929, only the base of the skyscraper could be built at that time. Hearst's dreams of greatness (who died in 1951) were finally fulfilled in 2006, when a building was built on the original base. The tower, which now stands 182 metres high and has 46 floors, was the first skyscraper to be inaugurated after the attacks of September 11. The architecture of the building is indeed surprising, composed of interlocking steel and glass triangles.
