New York's tallest skyscraper symbolizes the city's rebirth after the terrible attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Freedom Tower project, now renamed One World Trade Center, was led by architect David Childs of the SOM agency, based on Libeskind's original design. Construction of the tower began in April 2006 and was completed in May 2013. 104 floors and 77 elevators make up the building. On the roof, an arrow has been installed, which culminates at 541 m, the symbolic height of 1,776 feet, 1776 being the date of independence and therefore the birth of the United States. The tower is the highest in the United States and the West. Companies such as the investment company BMB and Condé Nast Publications (a publishing company that publishes magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, The New Yorker, etc.) began to set up at the end of 2014. But, at the moment, not all the floors have yet been sold and the tower is struggling to fill up. A panoramic room opened its doors to visitors in May 2015. This building is considered the safest ever built in the United States. All buildings have been subject to extremely strict anti-terrorist standards. This is characterized, among other things, by the existence of a very massive base with no openings.

On the 102nd floor of the One World Trade Center, the world is at your feet. At 380 m high, the tower's observatory offers a 360° view of New York, just as the Twins Towers did in its time. The experiment begins at the bottom. Before arriving at the elevators, an initiatory journey awaits you, with dozens of screens showing images of the tower's construction and interviews with the workers who worked on this titanic site. Once in the elevator, it will only take you 47 seconds to get to the observatory. During the ascent, screens on the four walls of the elevator provide a panoramic view of New York from the 16th century to the present day. We can briefly see the former towers of the World Trade Center. Once you arrive on the 102nd floor, a two-minute film about today's New York City awaits you. At the end of the video, the screens rise and give way to a magnificent view of northern Manhattan. The observatory, unlike those in the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center, is not outdoors, but is sheltered behind bay windows that run from floor to ceiling. You will be so high in the sky that you can see the curvature of the Earth if the sky is clear!
