This small museum in the heart of Harlem, a few steps from the famous Apollo Theatre, presents the work of contemporary African-American artists. The rooms are bright and pleasant, and the works are particularly well displayed.
Temporary exhibitions are presented regularly(Martial Arts in Black Culture in the 1970s and 1980s, Graffiti in Harlem, etc.), and the museum organizes events such as African poetry recitals, film screenings and musical evenings. A very good exhibition center for contemporary black American culture, very complementary to the Schomburg Center.
