Stonewall National Monument in front of Stonewall Inn commemorating the beginning of the civil rights movement for homosexuals.
Despite its small size, Christopher Park is one of the Village's most iconic venues. Every day, colorful characters gather here, sometimes for drag parades and other unforgettable performances. Opposite the Stonewall Inn, site of the 1969 riot that marked the beginning of the gay civil rights movement, the park is home to the Stonewall National Monument, which commemorates these events. Also a Visitor Center.
