Little Island is further proof that the Meatpacking District has become the design district par excellence. Designed by Heatherwick Studio, also behind the Vessel, this public garden is set on an artificial island in the Hudson River. The park is not very large but it is green, with perfectly manicured lawns and plantings arranged around paths. The park is supported by suspended structures of varying heights that provide relief. Little Island includes a stage where free events are held.
