You've probably heard of Paris-Plages, now here's its New York equivalent! Open since 2023, Gansevoort Peninsula is a new public park featuring a sports field, benches, a picnic area and, of course, Manhattan's first beach. You can lie on wooden chairs or on the sand, as the area is very well maintained. Swimming is not permitted (it's not generally recommended to take a dip in the Hudson River or East River in New York City), but the area lends itself well to lounging.
