The New York Hanging Gardens offer a pleasant walk with a unique view of the Hudson River and the buildings of Midtown.

New York also has its hanging gardens! Like the Coulée verte in Paris, the High Line is a former railway line that has been abandoned since the 1980s and rehabilitated as a park. This old track served goods in warehouses and factories in the Meatpacking District. Under renovation for years, it now connects Gansevoort Street to 34th Street, the segment on which the promenade was built (between 10th and 11th avenues), to become a real suspended urban park. The result is amazing. Over thirty blocks, and 10 metres above the ground, the promenade is magnificent and offers an unprecedented view of the Hudson River and Midtown buildings. Feel free to come at sunset with a small picnic to relax after a long day of visiting and walking. The place is ideal for a romantic stroll or even a wedding proposal... Along the walk, you will also come across works of art, music groups and some candy sellers. As a result, the entire neighbourhood has undergone a major architectural metamorphosis in recent years, particularly with the recent opening of the Hudson Yards Towers on 34th Street. A few deckchairs facing the Hudson River, flowered corners, and an original amphitheatre make this walk a must in the city. And you may be able to see some New Yorkers in their homes, with the High Line passing very close to the third and fourth floors of some buildings.
