THE EARTH ROOM
Large room in a classic building, covered with earth, ideal for a free and fun visit
The most unusual place in the city! Imagine instead: in a large room (335 m²) of a completely classic building has been spread from the earth... This "work" by New York artist Walter de Maria, inaugurated in 1980, is interesting for the impression of humidity and the smell of forest in the room. The land is watered every day and then covered with Plexiglas for visitors to come. A visit that will undoubtedly leave you perplexed, as is often the case with contemporary art. Useless but free and fun.
