Small gallery in Manhattan presenting paintings, sculptures and photographs as well as installations
Wendy Osloff and Penny Pilkinston (from London) started P.P.O.W. in September 1983, with a small gallery in the East Village. Having expanded several times, P.P.O.W. moved to the3rd floor of a building on Broadway in September 1988, before settling in SoHo. The two owners pay special attention to the quality of the different techniques used by their artists, as well as to the political and social content of their works. The gallery presents painters, sculptors and photographers, as well as installations: David Mojnarowicz, Carrie Mae Weem, Dotty Attie, Lynne Cohen, Walter Martin, Christy Rupp, Sandy Skoglund and Karen Arm, Brett Reichman..
