Vinegar Hill is a small neighborhood that follows on from Dumbo, but whose cobbled streets are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trade. And this restaurant is a very pleasant enclave for dining, with its modern, flavorful American cuisine. The place is also great for brunch (the sourdough pancake is divine), but for the price, we wish the portions were bigger. At the end of the meal, we take a stroll along the river, beyond which Manhattan rises.
