Beautiful historic Ferris wheel in Brooklyn used as a fairground setting for Woody Allen's latest film, Wonder Wheel
This beautiful Ferris wheel is an old lady, having been built in 1920, a few years before the Cyclone, the historic wooden roller coaster in the neighboring amusement park. Mind you, it's not part of the surrounding Luna Park. What makes this wheel so special is that every other gondola is mobile, moving on rails for added thrills! This wheel gave its name and fairground setting to Woody Allen's latest film, Wonder Wheel, a comedy-drama set in a 1950s Coney Island released in January 2018.
