A stay in a historic hotel in the TWA terminal building in New York City.
Unique in its kind, this hotel, opened in May 2019, is housed in the terminal of the TWA, the airline that went bankrupt after the September 11 attacks, and whose president was none other than Howard Hughes. The architect Eero Saarinen is responsible for this avant-garde, curved building, which was inaugurated in 1962 and listed as a historical heritage site. Staying at the TWA Hotel is like going back to the 1960s, with retro decor and period objects. Bonus: you can watch the planes take off from the pool!

Its location next to T5 JFK is probably its biggest appeal but also contributes to noise all night long. Thin walls, people coming and going at all hours, airplanes and traffic noises (New Yorkers love using their car horns). I'd stay there again in a pinch with a really early flight.
