This museum presents only temporary exhibitions of African and African-American art. Two floors are devoted to regional arts, where exhibits are presented thematically, culturally or politically. They are always very varied, and include paintings, sculptures, masks and sacred objects. Compared with other ethnic museums, this one features traditional and ancient works as well as contemporary ones. The museum store sells a variety of creations and handicrafts related to the current exhibition.
