Very cool place to stay. Rooms are clean and fun. But limited counter space and shower drain is awful (water all over the bathroom floor), location is only convenient if you're catching a flight. Otherwise, it's an awful place to be due to JFK filth and construction. I would stay only for convenience of travel.

Outstanding… if you want to back to basis it is a good place.

Beautiful building, interesting historical displays are worth seeing if you are into architecture & history.
Very pleasant staff,
Omnipresent, repetitive music is loud and very, very annoying.
Don’t pay to eat at the Paris Cafe - it’s uncomfortable & has mediocre food.
Do stop by the bar in the lobby — bartenders there are delightful and you can get food to go.
We only grabbed coffee & bagels at the food court; it was unpleasantly hectic, disorganized and smelled like a shopping mall food court.
The rooms - well the view of the runway is awesome, but they stint on pillows, the mattresses are not so great and the only bed cover is a comforter in a cover so you either bake or sleep without a top sheet. Probably some impressionable designer thought a duvet was chic.

In summary, I’m glad we went but can only recommend with caveats.

My second time staying at the TWA hotel JFK. After a long walk through a construction site maze after getting off the Airtrain, I arrived to check-in after midnight. I had requested the Hugh’s wing but they assigned me to a Saarinen Wing room, up a long incline ramp, down an elevator to the 2nd floor, then to the very end of a long hallway. There is no help carrying luggage. No luggage carts. After hauling my two rollers and a carry on bag after a 12 hour flight, the door opened to an unmade bed and towels on the floor in the bathroom. Window facing a wall. Not what I expect for $347. Even in my native NYC. I called the front desk and mo one answered.
A second attempt got me a guy who told me to come back to the front desk. This 70 year old jet lagged man was in no mood for such poor service. I insisted he send help to carry my bags to whatever room they planned to put me in. An hour after first checking in I’m now settled into my replacement room and writing this. It’s 1:35 am. I am not looking forward to my morning meeting in Manhattan. No offer was made to discount the room. Or upgrade me. I got an apathetic apology from the night manager. It’s a disappointment to find such a low level of customer service at this historical landmark hotel.

Hotel bellissimo all’interno dell’aeroporto di NY. Consigliato per una notte in caso di scali e/o ritardi

Definitely worth a visit even if you’re not staying here. This is a celebration of the 60s and Air travel - TWA style.

The hotel is a showcase of 60s schtick. From old school beauty salon to a Twister room. The rooms are retro but modern.

There is also a great rooftop pool. Heated. Check it out and watch the jets take off.

A 24-hour food area serving many different styles.

If you’re stuck at Terminal 5 (Jet Blue) take a visit back in time and see this great building. It’s connected to the terminal.

If not in terminal 5 - just jump the AirTrain.

Our stay at the TWA Hotel was absolutely memorable! The hotel brilliantly captures the essence of the jet age, making the nostalgia factor a huge hit with our family. Beyond the charming theme, the hotel excels in all areas—comfort, cleanliness, and service were all top-notch. The convenience of its location within the airport cannot be overstated, making early morning flights a breeze. This is not just a stay but an experience—highly recommended for anyone traveling through or looking for a unique getaway!

I went here to check out the old terminal which is STUNNING. Got some souvenirs and the. Headed to the pool. It's $50 for an hour n 45 but it was off season so there was no urgency and I got in a little early. I got a tequila sunrise and it was $19. Not great but expected for a rooftop airplane pool. ???? You have to reserve pool time online in advance. It's heated. There is food at the pool but I think it's just pool food. I saw chips and hot dogs....
The staff here is so helpful and kind. Made me feel very welcomed.
There's no showers just a bathroom to change in.

I have one complaint but legit- lt's the whole airport..... This whole place is cashless. Even the bars in the airport make you order online and it's a REAL PAIN to pay cash. You have to wait for a manager to scan the QR code on your order before anything even happens. I left two bars bc of the long wait no manager ever came to scan my code to put my order on. This place was 100% cashless, the bar stuff happened in the actual airport terminal.

Taxis can never find this place

Amazing place, perfect to wait out between two flights even overnight from any terminal in JFK airport thanks to free air rail transportation. The only issue is the price, a little too high for what it is. Except that, the place is unique, full of history, and offers lot of entertainment. Must visit even when only transiting between flights, and stay if possible!

The hotel looks absolutely stunning and is very conveniently located.
However, I found the rooms to be quite noisy (I could clearly hear my naighbour and other guests passing by in the hallway) and the food and beverages options to be seriously overpriced for a sub par quality.

The staff was ok.

Love this place. We did a late checkout stay before an international flight. We loved the pool, loved exploring the areas of the hotel, loved Connie the cocktail lounge. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious and lunch at the pool bar which was also very good. Seeing the runway from our room was super cool.

Great hotel to get a historical perspective on the airline industry through the TWA experience. The property has a terrific theme of showing the characteristics of TWA during The 1960s. A great history lesson for youngsters and a walk down memory lane for folks who remember the TWA years. Very nice room. Love the long stretch of red carpet that was used in the movie " catch me if you can " with DiCaprio , Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken.

The coolest "theme" hotel I've ever experienced. The TWA terminal as hotel lobby is fantastic. Don't overlook the brilliant way the thoroughly modern hotel wings are connected to a 1962 architectural icon.

TWA is great for exactly one night and only if you're flying out of JFK. The rooms are esthetically pleasing but are bare bones in regard to amenities. The fridge is actually just a cooler, no closet or hanging space apart from 3 wall hooks with hangars, no coffee pot/kettle/microwave. Ice machines few and far between (if theyre even working). It certainly has the novelty aspect and when it was new, wonderfully restored. For a $400-500 per night room I'd excpect a heck of a lot more. Its starting to looked dated and really beat up. Bar and food choices massively overpriced for what you get and the main restaurant whilst is good, the quality doesnt warrent the price tag. Service is the bars and roof deck is slow and they're usually overwhelmed, restaurant they're quite prompt, food court is similar to a mall food court for level of service. Not great for a long stay but perfect for exactly one night.
Its location next to T5 JFK is probably its biggest appeal but also contributes to noise all night long. Thin walls, people coming and going at all hours, airplanes and traffic noises (New Yorkers love using their car horns). I'd stay there again in a pinch with a really early flight.

Such a cool and iconic hotel, walking distance from JFK Terminal 5. Lots of interesting items from the old TWA days. The rooftop pool/bar, with views of the runway, is something not to be missed!

Their page promises pool reservation for $25, but when you try to book it's $50. See photos.

Very misleading!

One of the most unusual hotels we've ever stayed in. If you are a history buff around aviation this would be right up your alley. Good location if you have a long layover and need a rest. Comfortable rooms and food available in the dining hall downstairs.

A must see when at JFK! Beautiful place. Don’t miss the bar in the airplane!
Get off at terminal 5 and ask for directions or else you might not find it!????
