Two story property on the old post road, relocated and restored, housing the Bronx History Museum.
This two-storey property was built in 1758 on the old postal road between New York and Boston for wealthy farmer Isaac Valentine. The latter was driven out during the War of Independence because of the many battles that took place in the area. Butcher Isaac Varian bought the house before his family sold it to the city. In 1965, it was moved to its current location and restored for three years. It is the oldest farm in the Bronx, and now houses the Bronx History Museum.
