CRAFT SOUK

Left of the Tekkiyeh Mosque, this madrasas was completed in 1566, the year of death of the Ottoman Sultan Soliman le Magnificent. It consisted of cells for students, now transformed into crafts shops around a vast courtyard, which then served in the lodging of pilgrims. This craft shop, owned by the Ministry of Tourism, is a testament to the desire to keep Syrian crafts alive by exposing them and making them accessible to tourists. The completely artificial aspect of the whole does not spoil the quality of objects sold in shops and allows allergy allergy or hurry to fill the suitcases once (see "Shopping"). It should not be missed: look at the dexterity and prowess of the glass blower!
