From the north door of the city's fortified town, one can see a round minaret in brick. It was that of the Great Mosque, rebuilt by Noureddin in 1165 at the location of a high primitive mosque by the Al-Mansour caliph in the th century. The mosque is strangely surrounded by eleven brick towers reminiscent of the walls of the city. Inside you will discover, a minaret of 25 m, of mesopotamian inspiration as well as arches, crues bricks, well preserved from the prayer room.
