Along the pink brick enclosure of the city's fortifications, bordered by a shady walk, 300 m away from the walls, a monument named Qasr al-Banat (girls'palace) is reached. It dates back to the th century. The four-iwans plan, whose brick is the main decoration, is a rare example for countries outside Iran at that time. Its function remains a mystery.
