THE POND OF BARTHES
Nestled in the creux of the forest, the plateau de Freycenet-la-Tour, the pond of the Barthes is different from the surrounding water points. Its geological origins remain mysterious and are not the result of volcanic activity. Over the seasons, the pond transforms. In spring it looks like a lake, and then in summer it is invaded not by sedge tufts. If you wish to go in winter, cover yourself! Although protected by the spruce and ash, the wind on the plateau, at more than 1000 m altitude, is extremely bright. Climb on the lookout for bird watching. Enjoy the view of Mount Alambre, the Pie rock and the rock of the Bacchat. Walk on the pontoons above the pond and discover the richness of the fauna and flora. There is also a trail to the nearby forest and all the small ones (like the larger ones) will be happy to look for the exit of the natural labyrinth to return to the parking lot. Nearby giant wind turbines add magic to this beholder site.
