LA CANCHÁNCHARA
Go there and contact
One of the oldest houses in Trinidad, where architectural elements from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries are mixed. You can dance while sipping the canchánchara (3 €), a local drink made of lemon juice, honey and aguardiente (strong rum). The Mambis, the independence fighters of the 19th century, drew their courage from this beverage during the war against the Spanish troops. Delicious but treacherous. So an advice, avoid the abuse... Local orchestras (you will probably be attracted by the music from the street).
