IGLESIA PARROQUIAL MAYOR

Rebuilt in its present structure in 1680 with the same stones, after having been destroyed earlier, it pays homage to... the Holy Spirit. The tower was added later, in the 18th century, and the dome in the 19th. The interior is richly decorated and, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the city in July 2014, it was repainted in blue which makes the church particularly beautiful. Historical epicenter of the city, the Iglesia Parroquial Mayor is surrounded by colonial buildings. A building representative of the architectural tradition of the region.
